Elizabeth McCauley, PhD

Role

Dr. McCauley serves as core faculty to CSPAR.  In addition, she is also a senior faculty member of the Suicide Care Research Center (SCRC).

Background

Dr. McCauley has over 40 years of experience as a developmental and child/adolescent clinical psychologist in both research and clinical practice. She is currently the Associate Director of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry and Behavioral Medicine of Seattle Children’s Hospital. Dr. McCauley has made significant contributions to the field including the efficacy for adapting Dialectical Behavior Therapy for adolescents at high-risk for suicide. For over 10 years, Dr. McCauley has been partnered with King County Public Health and Seattle Public schools to expand and improve school-based mental health services. She also has substantial clinical experience working with youth and their families experiencing gender dysphoria and other disorders relating to sexual development.
