About
The Connections Study is a 3-year NIMH-funded co-design and pilot study working to improve the design and delivery of care for adolescents and young adults whose suicidality is managed in integrated behavioral healthcare settings. It is one of several studies housed in the Suicide Care Research Center. The goal of the Connections study is to develop a brief treatment approach to help adolescent and young adult patients resolve and recover from suicidality.
The study aims to partner with integrated behavioral health (IBH) care teams and individuals with lived experience to:
- Understand what is and is not working to treat suicidality and help patients recover.
- Co-design a model of treatment and recovery services for adolescents and young adults experiencing suicidality that is feasible and appropriate for IBH programs/settings.
- Work with IBH teams to try out the new model until it is working smoothly.
- Pilot the model and compare it to usual care.
