Forefront Suicide Prevention

Forefront Suicide Prevention is a Center of Excellence at the University of Washington focused on reducing suicide by empowering individuals and communities to take sustainable action, championing systemic change, and restoring hope. Forefront is not a suicide prevention hotline or crisis center.

King County #211

Residents of King County, including the city of Seattle, can dial #211 to receive information on and connections to a wide variety of health and human service programs, including food banks, subsidized transportation, and housing assistance. 

 

National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI) of Washington State

There are 20 NAMI affiliate offices throughout Washington State, including NAMI Seattle.  NAMI serves to provide advocacy, education, and resources such as support groups or classes for people impacted by mental illness. 

Seattle Children’s Mental Health Referral Service for Children and Teens in Washington 

Accessible for children and teenagers under 17 years old in Washington State, call (833) 303-5437 for help finding receiving referrals to mental health services tailored to your (or your child’s) needs. 
 

Washington Crisis Connections Warm Line

People throughout Washington State can dial (877) 500-WARM (9276) to talk to peer volunteers to discuss emotional and mental health challenges.

 

The Washington Recovery Help Line

Dial (866) 789-1511 to access discreet, anonymous, and confidential support services for a wide variety of needs, including local treatment resources for substance abuse, problem gambling and mental health issues.

 

Washington Teen Link

Washington State teenagers can call or text (866) 833-6546 to connect with teen volunteers for peer support to talk about bullying, stress, relationships, depression, or other issues, in addition to offering resources. Teen Link is available 7 days a week from 6pm-10pm.
