Anna Evanson

Role

Anna is a lead project manager and research scientist on studies funded by a grant from USAA’s Face the Fight Foundation which includes coordinating both a pilot study and a randomized controlled trial (RCT) of n=510 Veterans and military members, and collaborating with an interdisciplinary team to develop a new web-app to deliver the Caring Contacts intervention.

Background

Anna graduated from the University of Washington with a BS in Psychology, a BA in Anthropology with a human evolutionary biology focus, and minors in both American Indian Studies and Diversity. She is interested in clinical research of health and wellness through the praxis of social justice and community advocacy as an essential part of ethical research with under-represented communities and populations. Anna has previously worked on the study Preventing Addiction Related Suicide (PARS, PIs. Comtois & Ries) and the Aftercare Focus Study (AFS, PI. Comtois). Most recently, she served as the senior field site liaison, data collection supervisor, and lead intervention coordinator for the NIMH-funded study Caring Texts: A Strength-based, Suicide Prevention Trial in 4 Native Communities (CARE, PIs. Nelson & Comtois).
